Catherine was born about 1724 in ,Isle Of Wight, Virginia.1 Catherine's father was Arthur Whitehead and her mother was Isabella Purcell. Her paternal grandparents were William Whitehead and Rachel; her maternal grandparents were Arthur Purcell and Mary. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Arthur, Lewis, Nathan, Patience, Mary and Ann. She was the third youngest of the seven children.-
