John Thomas Turney 
John Thomas was born on August 4th, 1794 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.1 John Thomas' father was Daniel Turney and his mother was Susan Matheny. His paternal grandparents were Peter Turney and Eva May Schwartz; his maternal grandparents were Daniel Matheny and Judah. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Peter, Jesse, Amos, Matthew, Eve Mary, Sarah, Judith, Anna, Rebecca, Lydia and Catherine. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 57 on August 15th, 1851 in ,Coles, Illinois. He was buried in Lafayette Twp., Coles, Illinois.1 1 -
