Anna was born in 1874 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.1 Anna's father was William O. Shropshire and her mother was Margaret H. Cunningham. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas L. Cunningham and Isabella M. Henderson. She had three brothers named Isaac, William and Thomas. She was the second youngest of the four children.-
