Rowena M. was born in 1873 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Rowena M.'s father was Samuel Crawford Rutledge and her mother was Mary Matilda Palmer. Her paternal grandparents were Emanuel Rutledge and Sarah Kate Wilson. She had four brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named William T., John M., Samuel Walter, E. J. Houston, Rebecca Jane, Florida E., Sarah Martha, Mary E. and L. F.. She was the third youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 37 in 1910.1 -
