James Ross

James was born in 1831 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   James' father was Frederick Ross and his mother was Theodocia. He had six brothers and a sister, named David, William, Frederick, Edward Manning, George, Charles and Fanny.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.
