Marquis L. was born about 1878 in ,Washington, Missouri.¹   Marquis L.'s father was William "Bud" Record and his mother was Martha Isgrigg.  His maternal grandparents were John Isgrigg and Caroline UNKNOWN. He had three sisters named Julia M., Etta V. and Maude Viola.  He was the oldest of the four children.
