Buried at Fairview Cemetery, Macksville, Kansas.
Gerald Reser, son of Ruby Rathbun Reser, who has researched the family, tells us, "Family stories say that the first four children were born at Sanberry, Gentry County, Missouri. However, my research has not found that they were every living in Stanberry, Missouri; it may have been their mailing address. The 1880 census records show them living in Platte Township, Andrew County, Missouri and it believed that they probably resided there unitl sometime before the fifth child, Charley, was born. At that time they probably lived on a farm near the crossroads village called Island City, which is in Gentry County, Missouri."
Gerald Reser goes on to say, "About 1894 they moved to Indian Territory (near present-day Quapaw, Oklahoma) and farmed there for five or six years. In 1901 they were running a small restaurant in Galena, Cherokee County, Kansas. About 1903 they moved to a farm in Crawford County, Kansas. By 1907 they had moved to a farm in Crawford County, Kansas. By 1907 they had moved again by covered wagon to a homestead in Stanton County, Kansas (their claim was twelved miles from the Colorado line). In 1912 they moved to a farm near Macksville, Kansas and later retired to a small acreage in Macksville."
