Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Pinson and Mary Willet; her maternal grandparents were Jonas Harmon and Catherine Woolford. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Benjamin Franklin, Jonas H., Joseph A., Sarah Eliza, Elizabeth, Mary C. and Martha A.. She was the youngest of the eight children.-
