Edward was born in 1016.¹ Edward's father was Edmund II Ironside Of England and his mother was Ealdgyth. His paternal grandparents were Ethelred II Of England and Ealflaed Thoredsdottir. He was an only child. He died at the age of 41 in 1057.¹
