Nora was born on August 31st, 1883 in ,Wayne, Ohio.1 Nora's father was Oliver Perry Martin and her mother was Mary Ann Doty. Her maternal grandparents were Robert Sowards Doty and Catherine Doyle. She had two brothers and six sisters, named David Clyde, William Palmer, Lois Estella, Catherine Lovina, Edith, Elizabeth, Alice Irene and Bertha Viola. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
