Calloway Manis

Calloway was born in 1858 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹ Calloway's father was John Manis and his mother was Martha Gonce. His paternal grandparents were John Manis and Celia; his maternal grandparents were Vance Gonce and Martha Or Patsy Davis. He had seven brothers and eight sisters, named John, George, Vance, Tivis, Patton, Christopher, Allen, Susannah, Elizabeth, Frances, Missa E., Lou Vesta, Mary, Martha and Lillie. He was the second oldest of the sixteen children.
