Eliza Catherine was born in 1833 in Near Persia, Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Eliza Catherine's father was John Louderback and her mother was Winney West. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Louderback and Mary Or Polly McDaniel; her maternal grandparents were James West and Nancy Grigsby. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, David West, Felix, Sarah Jane and Nancy J.. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Lafayette, Henry, Hezekiah Hamblin, Mary Ann, Laura and Narcissa Louvena.-
