Martha was born in 1845 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.1 Martha's father was Robert Langston and her mother was Sarah Ann Parish. Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Langston and Isabella Clark. She had a brother and a sister, named Robert L. and Eliza Ann. She was the second oldest of the three children.-
