Elizabeth was born in 1825 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Elizabeth's father was Williams Kinkead and her mother was Nancy Gibbons. Her maternal grandfather was John Gibbons. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Williams, David, Mary, Nancy L., Susan Adeline, Jane, Ann, Frances and Katherine. She was the oldest of the ten children.
