Henry Clay was born in 1847 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.1 Henry Clay's father was Thomas Kennedy and his mother was Sarah. His paternal grandparents were Jesse Kennedy and Mary Or Polly Waugh. He had six brothers and a sister, named Jesse, Eli, George Washington, W. S., William, John Bell and Alice. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
