Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hutchcraft and Nellie Harrison Apperson; her maternal grandparents were Samuel L. Williams and Fannie Clark. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Richard W., Samuel, T., Harry, Margaret M., Lou Ann, Carry W., Amanda, Catherine Or Kate, Martha and Hallie. She was the second oldest of the twelve children.-
