Hester Ann was born on March 25th, 1868 in ,Effingham, Illinois.1 Hester Ann's father was Louis L. Hughes and her mother was Christiana Rudy. Her maternal grandparents were William A. Rudy and Sarah Engelheart. She had four sisters named Almeda Jane, Mary Emma, Elnora and Lura Mae. She was the third oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 81 in 1949 in Cowden, Shelby, Illinois. She was buried in Cowden Cemetary, Cowden, Shelby, Illinois.1 1 -
