Nancy Holsten was born in 1867 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Nancy Holsten's father was Robert A. Hounshell and her mother was Elizabeth Darter. Her maternal grandmother was Sarah. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Robert Nicholas, Sarah, Oregon, Ann and Mary Ann. She was the second youngest of the seven children.
