Martha M. Hiett 
Martha M. was born on January 16th, 1846 in Ripley, Mississippi.1 Martha M.'s father was John Charles Hiett and her mother was Mary Teresa Berry. She had a brother named Billie. She died at the age of 80 on August 8th, 1926 in Altus, Oklahoma.1 General Notes

In the 1900 U.S. Census Martha M. Adams family was living in Bosque
County, Texas. On February 13, 1900, Martha M. Adams applied for her
husband's Confederate pension. She was turned down because she had land
interest and was not considered "indigent" in the eyes of the law. This
letter is on file in Austin, Texas, at the State Archives.
Martha lived near Morgan, Texas for several years. Altus, Oklahoma, later
became her home and subsequently her place of burial.
