From Valeska Vicars information: In the 1900 U.S. Census Martha M. Adams family was living in Bosque County, Texas. On February 13, 1900, Martha M. Adams applied for her husband's Confederate pension. She was turned down because she had land interest and was not considered "indigent" in the eyes of the law. This letter is on file in Austin, Texas, at the State Archives. Martha lived near Morgan, Texas for several years. Altus, Oklahoma, later became her home and subsequently her place of burial.
