Martha Hale 
Martha was born in 1865 in Tennessee.1 Martha's father was John Hale and her mother was Sarah Ann Massey. Her paternal grandparents were Jesse Hale and Malinda Bussell; her maternal grandparents were Garrett Massey and Lovina Cropper. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William Daniel, James W., Sophronia and Mattie L.. She was the second oldest of the five children.-
