His paternal grandparents were Elias Fort and Phyllis Champion; his maternal grandparents were Richard Jordan and Elizabeth. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Elias, Richard, Thomas, John, William, Mary, Hannah and Sarah. He died in 1761 in ,Edgecombe, NC.1 -
