Walter was born about 1105 in of, Paisley Abbey, Renfrewshire, Scotland and his baptism took place in Also Of, DOL, Normandy France.1 Walter's father was Alan FITZFLAALD and his mother was Avelina De HESDING. His paternal grandparents were Fledaldus Or Flaald DOL and Mrs-Fledaldus Or Flaald DOL; his maternal grandfather was Ernulf De HESDING. He had two brothers and a sister, named Jordan, William and Sibil. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died in 1177.1 General Notes
