William I's father was William D' Aubigny and his mother was Maud Bigot. His paternal grandparents were Roger D' Aubigny and Avicia De Mowbray; his maternal grandparents were Roger Bigot and Adeliza De Grentmesnil. He was an only child. He died on October 12th, 1156.¹
