Dabia Ann was born in 1875 in Indiana.1 Dabia Ann's father was William Riley Cato and her mother was Alcey Shoemaker. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Cato and Nancy Taylor. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Isaac Thomas, William Tolbert, Grover Cleveland, Rosco, Mary Jane, Rhoda Elizabeth, Isabell and Emma Stella. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
