Laura Bessie was born on November 25th, 1880 in Georgetown, Williamson Co., TX.1 Laura Bessie's father was Jackson Alexander Brown and her mother was Sarah Jane Tackett. Her maternal grandparents were William Mason Tackett and Mary Ann Patrick. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William Lafayette "Dock", Thomas Beaumont, Vollie Andrew, Martin Luther, Daisy, Letha Pearl and Fannie. She had two half-brothers named William Moody and Collie D.. She died at the age of 59 on June 20th, 1940.1 -
