Thomas was born on February 17th, 1790 in Halifax, North Carolina.1 Thomas' father was Henry Bradford and his mother was Sara Crowell. His paternal grandparents were John Bradford and Patience Reed; his maternal grandparents were Edward Crowell and Martha. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Nathaniel, John, Henry, Edward, Richard Henry, Martha, Elizabeth, Mary Crowell and Sarah. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
