Helena was born on October 31st, 1888 in ,Franklin, Missouri.1 Helena's father was Politte Bourbon and her mother was Margaret Mary Flanagin. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Bourbon and Justine UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Flanagin and Sarah Ann Northcut. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Michael William, John, Frances M., Minnie M., Eliza, Alice, Agnes, Emilia, Louise and Maria Esther. She was the second youngest of the eleven children.-
