Ruth was born about 1639 in MA.1 Ruth's father was Samuel Bass and her mother was Anne Sutton. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Basse and Mary McLeared; her maternal grandparents were John Sutton and Julia Little. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, John, Thomas, Benjamin, Joseph, Mary, Hannah and Sarah. She was the third youngest of the nine children.-
