Bennett was born in 1803 in ,,NC.1 Bennett's father was William Barrow and his mother was Phereby Hilliard. His paternal grandparents were William Barrow and Olivia Ruffin; his maternal grandparents were Robert Hilliard and Mary McKeithan. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert Hilliard, William Ruffin, Bennett Hilliard, James, Nancy Ruffin, Martha Hilliard and Eliza Eleanor. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 2 in 1805.1 -
