His paternal grandparents were Joseph Athanase Bardot and Elizabeth UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were George Voisine Thairaise and Marie UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Louis L., Anthony, Joseph L., John Baptiste, Julius, Augustus, Mary, Elizabeth, Julia T. and Marie Josephine. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.-
