Martha was born in 1867 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Martha's father was George Amyx and her mother was Miner Amis. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Amyx and Mary. She had a brother and four sisters, named Jackson, Manila F., Mary Jane, Lou Anna and Elizabeth. She was the second youngest of the six children.-
