John was born about 1705 in ,,Virginia.1 John's father was Samuel Alsobrook and his mother was Joan Howell. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Alsobrook and Mary Ironmonger; his maternal grandparents were William Howell and Hannah Wyche. He had five brothers and a sister, named Howell, William Henry, David, Hewet, Samuel and Hannah. He died about 1781 in ,Halifax, North Carolina. as John Alsobrook of Virginia.
John Alsobrook had a Close association with Drury Crocker. I am incl ined to
believe that Drury Alsobrook was named after Drury Crocker, who may h ave been
his uncle (brother to Elizabeth his mother).
