Richard John was born on March 4th, 1928 in Marengo, Iowa Co., IA. Richard John's father was William Garfield Thomas and his mother was Mary Winifred Simmons. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Thomas and Mary Evans; his maternal grandparents were William Heald Simmons and Josephine Pettit. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Robert Abraham, Melvin William, Clifford James, Roy George, Ralph Edward, Allen Joseph, Glenn Frederick, Charles Franklin, Marianne Harriet and Elizabeth Marie. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died after 1990.General Notes
