His paternal grandparents were Thomas Price and Eliza Johnson; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Parsons and Isabella ?. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named Stephen, Edward, John, Benjamin, Thomas, Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary, Leah, Rachel, Hannah, Isabel and Sarah.
