John Martin Eckman 
John Martin was born on September 20th, 1749 in Lancaster Co., PA. John Martin's father was Jerome Hieronimus Eckman and his mother was Anna Barbara Slaymaker. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Eckman and Eva Dorothea Seitz; his maternal grandparents were Mathias Schleiermacher and Catharine Schiebel. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Johannes, John Henry, John Jacob, Heieronimus, Jr., Daniel, Anna Barbara, Eva Dorothea, Mary Magdalena, Esther and Maria. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 58 in 1807 in Lancaster Co., PA.General Notes
