Pepin I "The Old" was born about 0591 in Landen,Liege,Belgium . Pepin I "The Old" 's father was Carloman Major Domus Mayor of Austrasia and his mother was Chaumois of France. His paternal grandfather was Charles CT DE BRABANT . He was an only child. He died in 0639.General Notes

Pepin a great lord from eastern Belgium, incorrectly aka Pepin of Landen (since it was only in the twelfth century that the chroniclers of Brabant began to associate him with that locality) and Arnulf, Bishop of Metz, councilor when Pepin was mayor, were the ancestors of the Carolingian family. They were instrumental in deposing Brunhilde and her grandson Theuderic II.
