Theodoric, King of was born about 0454 in Panonnia-raised as a hostage in Constantinople, Eastern Roman . Theodoric, King of 's father was Theodemir, Chieftain of Ostrogoths and his mother was Erchiva UNKNOWN. He was an only child. He died on August 30th, 0526 in Ravenna, Italy .General Notes
After the death of Attila the Hun in 1453, the eastern Goths united and were known as Ostrogoths. Theodoric received a Roman education in Constantinople and became King of the Ostrogoths in 471. He moved an army against the ruler of Italy, Odacer, fought him for five years 488-493, then convinced him to accept a joint rule, and finally murdered him at a banquet. He became sole ruler of Italy for 33 years, a reign marked by peace and prosperity. His mausoleum can be seen in Ravenna today.
