Caleb was born in 1854 in Sampson County, NC. Caleb's father was Arthur Faircloth and his mother was Catherine "Kitsey" Owens. His paternal grandparents were John D Faircloth and Catherina Holton. He had a brother and a sister, named Raiford and Nancy Catherine. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had five half-brothers and a half-sister, named Smith F, Lillington , Isaiah, Barnabas, Daniel and Sarah E..General Notes
