Thomas was born in 1249 in of Tonbridge Kent Eng. Thomas' father was Richard de Clare and his mother was Maud de Lacy. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert De Clare and Isabel Lady Marshal. He was an only child. He died at the age of 38 in 1287.-
