Mourning Hickman 
Mourning was born in 1747 in Edgecomb Co NC. Mourning's father was Nathanial Sr. Hickman and her mother was Sarah Ann Strickland. Her paternal grandparents were William Hickman and Mary Williams; her maternal grandparents were Mathew Strickland II and Ann Braswell. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Nathanial, William, Christian, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the seven children.-
