Sarah was born in 1720. Sarah's father was Benjamin Colclough and her mother was Rachel Bolling. Her paternal grandparents were John Colclough and Mary Rivett; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Bolling and Susannah Bolling. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named William, Alexander, Robert , Hester Rachel, Margaret, Mary Jane, Rachel June, Elizabeth, Hannah and Jane Jean.-
