Simon was born about 1028 in Hainaut, FRANCE.  Simon's father was (Seigneur) Aumari De MONTFORT and his mother was Bertrade De GOMMETZ.  His paternal grandfather was William De HAINAULT; his maternal grandfather was Guillaume De GOMETZ.  He was an only child.  He died in 1087.
