  PROPERTY:  1699--Received a land patent in King Co., VA for 500 acres on Pamunkey Neck, then in
                           King & Queen Co., VA
  NOTE:
  John Burras/us/is/uss (various spellings) patented land in what became King William Co. in 1667 with William Woodard. John added to his acreage and records of a series of deeds between him and his sons exist today.  John lived along John's Creek (Jack's Creek) which is a tributary to the Pamunky River, approximately 5 miles up river from West Point. He was quite near the Pamunky Indian land. William Woodard was an Indian interpreter and was given a land patent for considerable acreage by Queen Ann of the Pamunky tribe. I do not know is John (early settler) (a nickname I use for him) was involved with the Indians. I cannot document his relationship to any of the other early Burris/us family members. I have researched them all and have documented them in appendices to the john Early Settler), narrative.
