  BURIED:  Calvert, Cecil Co., MD in the open section in the east Nottingham Meeting graveyard in an unmarked grave
  NOTE:
  They moved to Opoeckan, Frederick Co. VA by 1744 where John bought 165 acres on Mills Creek from John Mills, Jr. This land is now in Berkeley Co. VA. He was survived by his widow who married next in 1745 to Alexander Underwood at Monocacay Meeting and died December 26, 1777 in Wellsville,York Co. Pa.(Since John died in 1726 in Nottingham, Chester Co. Pa. as of his Will, I am not sure if this is an accurate statement, or it may reference one of the children. Still checking)

  Came on the ship:GRIFFIN with John Fenwick colony that settled at Salem, NJ in 1675

  In 1679, he had a farm in Chester co. Pa and lived along Chester Creek in Aston twp across the line from Chester twp.

  John Beals' Will, dated 11 Aug 1726, probated 17 Dec 1726, found on p. 973 of Early Settlers of Lee Co. VA
  Early Settlers.... also mentions his "Kinswoman Mary Davis of Philadelphia." Edward Byllynge, Quaker partner of John Fenwick in West Jersey was forced by financial difficulties to turn over his New Jersey land to three of his creditors, among
  them WILLIAM PENN. They proceeded to organize the land north of Fenwick's Salem, and to sell it off to a number of proprietors, including two companies of Quakers from Yorkshire and London, ENGLAND, sending Commissioners ahead to extinguish the Indian titles to the land. THIS WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE QUAKER IMMIGRATION TO THE AMERICAN COLONIES.
  NOTE:
  John was one among the earliest immigrants and most likely was one of the immigrants with the John Fenwick colony that came to America in 1675, sailing in the ship GRIFFIN, and settled at Salem, NJ. Proof of these facts are still in a searching mode.

  *    Note: I John Beals ofNottingham In ye County of Chester being sick and weak of body but of sound and Disposing mind and Memory do make this my last will and Testsament revoking all other wills that have heretofore been made or done by me.
  *    Note: First My will is that my just Debts and Funeral Charge be Defrayed as soon as possible after my Death, and also that my body be decently buried.
  *    Note: Secondly I give and bequeath Unto my Eldest Son John Beals my bed and all ye furniture thereunto belonging and five pounds he paying unto his 5 children Sarah, John, Thomas , Ann and Phebe to each of them Tenn Shillings when they come of age.
  *    Note: Thirdly I give unto my son William Beals Eight pound he paying to each of his 3 children Lydia, Mary and Ruth Ten shillings when of age.
  *    Note: Fourthly I give unto my daughter Mary Harrold, eight pounds she paying to each of her children Rachel, Jonathan and Richard Ten Shillings when they come of age.
  *    Note: Fifthly I give unto my son Jacob Beals twelve pound he paying to his 4 children John Jacob Mary and William to each of them Ten Shillings when of age.

  Sixthly I give unto my daughter Patience Jones ye Eight pound fifteen shillings that is due from her husband by Bond and Five pound more to be paid by my Executors willing she or husband to pay unto their 4 children when they are deemed by law to
  be of age.
  *    Note: Seventhly I give unto my daughter Mary Harrold and Patience Jones my warming pan and Spice Box. Also I give Unto James Wright Fourty shillings.
