‌Peter and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on January 1st, 1839 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.  They had three sons and five daughters, named Joseph, Cornelius Or Nealy, Francis Marion, Susan, Phebe, Sarah, Martha Ellen and Barbara.
