Alfred's father was Thomas Wornall and his mother was Sarah Or Sallie Ryan. His paternal grandparents were Roby Wornall and Edie; his maternal grandparents were John B. Ryan and Sarah. He had six brothers and four sisters, named James R., Perry, John, John B., Richard, Thomas, Nancy T., Susan, Eliza and Keturah. He died in , Bourbon, Kentucky.
