William Whitaker

William was born in 1740 in , Of, NC.  William's father was John Whitaker and his mother was Martha Gough.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Whitaker and Elizabeth Pyland; his maternal grandparents were William Gough and Alice Thacker. He had six brothers and a sister, named Robert, Richard, James, John, Gough, Dudley and Martha.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 49 in 1789 in , Kershaw, SC.
