Jacob Robinson was born about 1841 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Jacob Robinson's father was Jonathan Wexler and his mother was Mary Robins. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Wexler and Magares. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named George Buckellew, Edwin Ceris, Daniel Bacon and Mary.
