Maria Barbara was born about 1728 in Lancaster County, PA.  Maria Barbara's father was John Jacob Sturm and her mother was Maria Benedicta Sauer. She had three brothers and eight sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Jacob, John, Peter, Elizabeth, Mary, Susannah, Anna Maria, Anna Maria, Catharina, Charlotta, Christian Maria and Nandel.  She died before March 7th, 1816 in Middletown, Frederick County, MD.
