Robert Sowards 
Robert was born about 1780 in , , Virginia. Robert's father was Thomas Sowards and his mother was Esther Carlisle. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Sowards and Milliston Vanderford; his maternal grandparents were John Carlisle and Rosannah. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John and Rosanna. He was the oldest of the four children. He died in 1870 in Lancaster Twsp., Wells, Indiana.-
